During the winter months, the sun sits too low in the sky for the body to synthesise vitamin D, and because dietary sources are limited, Public Health England recommends vitamin D supplementation to support bone and muscle health.

Most vitamin D3 supplements are derived from lanolin in sheep’s wool, but Viridian Vitamin D3 provides a fully vegan alternative sourced from lichen. This plant‑based D3 has been clinically studied at the University of Surrey and shown to effectively raise blood serum vitamin D levels.
