In the winter months, sunlight in the UK is too weak for the body to make vitamin D, and because dietary sources are limited, Public Health England recommends supplementation to support bone and muscle health.

Unlike most vitamin D3 supplements, which are derived from lanolin in sheep’s wool, Viridian Vitamin D3 provides a fully vegan form sourced from lichen. This plant‑based D3 has been clinically studied at the University of Surrey and shown to effectively raise blood serum vitamin D levels.
